Predicting the Rage

An extinction burst is a sudden and dramatic increase in the behavior one is trying to stop. If you stop responding to late-night texts, the leader will send ten more, followed by a "spiritual warning." This is not a sign that you are wrong; it is a sign that your boundary is working.

Scorched Earth Tactics

If the burst fails to regain control, the leader will shift to scorched earth: character assassination. They will tell the remaining flock that you have "lost your way" or "become toxic," ensuring that no one else follows your example of independence.
